    MRO storerooms often require identification of parts and cataloguing their data attributes for various reasons, but mainly to help identify the item in the system correctly and to ensure accuracy of the part’s specifications.  We perform this with ease using our MRO3i cloud based tablet tool supported with millions of validated parts in our database.   

    Also, walk downs are necessary to convert parts from one EAM system to another with accuracy as well.   Our proven processes have shown a complete effective solution for identifying and validating your expensive inventory.

    Walk downs also include assignment of criticality and other inventory related information such as quantity on hand. 

  • Bill of Material

    Our MRO3i tool is an effective method to create bill of materials (BOM’s) to associate parts to assets.  MRO3i provides various methods for accomplishing this, either through the “where used” methodology, or by evaluating equipment and assets at their location and identifying the pats it uses from that perspective.   BOM’s provide critical information to ensure maintenance is getting the right part for that specific asset, which improves uptime and maintenance productivity.

  • Cleansing & Enhancement

    Net Results Group will standardize all your MRO parts and provide missing data specifications or attributes that are key to describing the material.   This is done through a systematized process using the MRO3i tool and database, along with customizing how you want to standardize to your specifications.   Net Results Group is totally agnostic on which EAM system you use, and have worked with all the major software systems, including JD Edwards, SAP, Maximo, etc.

  • Data standardization

    Data standardization is a quintessential practice in the world of MRO. Bad data leads to bad decisions as MRO items described inconsistently, inadequately, or incorrectly can lead to maintenance delays, production downtime, expedited shipments, duplicate item creations, excess stock, and unauthorized purchases. This problem is common to all industries and the solution is to clean, standardize and enrich existing data. Leading practices indicate that once data standardization is achieved, a structured catalog process must be implemented and adhered to. Catalog management enhances sustainability and data governance within an organization. Using the MRO3i™ application’s item profiler is the technology to quickly identify all parts with certainty, and populate any missing part attributes critical to ensure enriched data.

  • Asset Hierarchy Development

    Net Results Group’s MRO3i application and subject matter experts can ensure a successful and effective hierarchy development that meets your organization’s requirements:

    • A standardized taxonomy for the naming and classification of all levels of the asset hierarchy, ranging from the Business level, down to the maintainable item.
    • Establishment of a list of standard equipment classes and types defined appropriately. e.g. Pump, Centrifugal.
    • A list of required information for each asset by class and type.
    • Role specific access to data fields.  This will prevent staff from changing the data in the EAM system without proper authorization.
    • An equipment numbering system.

    Once these methods are established, the Asset Hierarchy development can begin.

    The standard hierarchy is broken down into seven to nine levels, depending on the industry and organization.  Using nine levels as an example:

    The first five levels represent a high-level categorization that relates to industries and plant application regardless of the equipment involved. The hierarchy is set up this way because equipment can be used in many different industries:

    • Level 1 – Industry (Natural Gas)
    • Level 2 – Business Category (Upstream)
    • Level 3 – Installation Category (Drilling)
    • Level 4 – Plant / Unit Category (Platform A2109B)
    • Level 5 – Section / System (Compression)

    Levels 6 to 9 are related to the equipment with further division diving deeper into the equipment in a parent-child relationship:

    • Level 6 – Equipment Class (Pump)
    • Level 7 – Subunit (Lubrication)
    • Level 8 – Maintainable Item (Gearbox)
    • Level 9 – Part (Bearing)

    In some cases there is no need to dive deeper than level 6, and in other instances, it is vital to dive down to the individual part level.  This distinction should be based on the needs of the organization, the level of reliability required and the ability of the organization to analyze and act on the data.  The higher levels of the hierarchy (levels 1-5) can be adjusted based on the industry of your organization.  However, those higher levels must standardize across the entire enterprise to realize the most benefits.
